This event will deepen social workers' understanding and experience of mindfulness practice and its remarkable potential in application to self-care and fulfillment in the social work profession.
Participants will learn about the variety and underlying universality of mindfulness practices, explore their own experience using mindfulness techniques, and design a sustainable mindfulness practice for themselves.
1) Understand the basic tenets and vision of mindfulness
2) Experience the benefits of mindfulness practice
3) Learn the application of mindfulness practice to self-care, resiliency, and fulfillment in the social work profession
This event meets criteria of the Iowa Board of Social Work Examiners for continuing social work education for a maximum of 3.0 hours. St. Ambrose School of Social Work is a licensed provider of social work education through the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation and will grant a maximum of 3.0 continuing social work education units (IDPFR license #159-000816).
