Menke Observatory Star Parties!

Beginning at sunset
St. Ambrose opens its observatory to the public for a night of stargazing. Visitors may use the observatory's telescopes or bring their own.
LOCATION: St. Ambrose Menke Observatory, Wapsi River Environmental Education Center, near Dixon, Iowa

Health Careers Adventure Camp
Monday, July 18 - Friday, July 22
8:30 am - 4:00 pm
A fun, information-filled day camp allows students to experience the challenges, opportunities and rewards of health professions through hands-on learning sessions provided by faculty and practicing clinicians. Campers will also travel to clinics throughout the area and have the opportunity to job-shadow healthcare professionals. For students entering the 7th or 8th grade.
LOCATION: Health Sciences Center, 1320 W. Lombard St., Davenport
COST: Until July 1, $200; After July 1, $225; Scholarship rate for students qualifying for free or reduced lunch program (limited number available) $35

Summer Institute on the Project Approach

An institute for educators who are new to the Project Approach or who would like to deepen their understanding of it. Participants will review fundamentals of project work, explore challenges such as topic selection and documentation, and work together on a project from phase one through culmination. Participants will tour a school that uses the Project Approach. Licensure credits are available through the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency.

Campus tours and info sessions will take place twice daily: 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
