St. Ambrose Assistant Professor of Social Work Pamela Long will be this year’s speaker for the sixth annual College of Arts and Sciences Lecture.
“Global Perspectives: International Social Work, Human Rights and Catholic Social Teaching.”
Tuesday, Apr. 15
Reception, 6 p.m.
Lecture, 7 p.m.
Rogalski Center Ballroom
Ripley and Lombard Streets, one block west of Harrison
The lecture is free and open to the public.
“While a primary purpose of the social work profession has been to redress issues of social and economic justice, social work programs must now include human rights education and international content,” says Long. “For schools of social work seated in Catholic institutions, Catholic Social Teaching provides a valuable resource for the study of human rights based upon primary principles of human dignity and the common good.”
