2019 Kennedy Scholarship Winner

05/09/2019

Each year, Michael Kennedy, co-founder of the SAU Theatre Department and former theatre professor, awards a generous scholarship to an incoming theatre student for displaying excellence and promise in theatre arts. This year, the deserving student is Quinnie Rodman, an incoming first-year student from Mount Vernon, Iowa.

Rodman (pictured below on the far right) is excited to attend St. Ambrose in the fall. She said her decision to come to SAU was because a few of her friends attend and told her great things about SAU's theatre and choir.

"I loved it the second I got on campus, and I loved it even more when I got to meet some of the people I would be working with," Rodman said.

Rodman has been involved in theatre since middle school. Her very first role was Violet in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Although she was nervous at first, she said she felt comfortable on stage and has loved it ever since.

She's also excited to meet new people and dive into different aspects of theatre.

"I have been an actor and done run crew before, but other than that, I don't have a lot of experience in other areas. I am excited to learn," Rodman said.

Rodman plans to major in theatre and music education while participating in band, choir and theatre.
