College Democrats
SAU College Democrats is a club dedicated to the values of the Democratic Party. We work to elect Democratic candidates; encourage equality, inclusion, and diversity; and mobilize the next generation of Democrats in America.
Every year we attend the Scott County Democrats' Red, White, and Blue Bash where we eat dinner and hear from influential politicians from Iowa and across the country.
In the past, we've hosted speakers on campus including actress Sophia Bush and volunteered at local rallies for former President Bill Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont).
Our group also has volunteered for multiple presidential and local campaigns, and we work closely with the Iowa Democratic Party.
We host campus events, bringing students together to watch presidential debates, encourage voter registration, and promote civic engagement.
