About Title IX
St. Ambrose University is committed to providing a work and educational environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and the University complies with the requirements of Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, Title VII, and all other applicable federal, state and local laws. The details of this Policy and how reports of any violation of this Policy should be made are set forth in detail below.

All complaints and reports should be promptly made, and all reports will be acted upon promptly. The University will make every effort to preserve the privacy of reports consistent with conducting an effective investigation. Scope
This Policy applies to conduct that takes place on campus, at University-sponsored events, and off-campus and online when the University determines that the off-campus conduct affects a substantial University interest. Conduct not covered under Title IX will be addressed through a separate student conduct process. A substantial University interest as defined in this Policy includes:
- Any action that constitutes a criminal offense as defined by federal or Iowa state law;
- Any situation where it appears that the accused individual may present a danger or threat to the health or safety of self or others;
- Any situation that significantly impinges upon the rights, property or achievements of self or others or significantly breaches the peace and/or causes social disorder; and/or
- Any situation that is detrimental to the educational interests of the University.
