The St. Ambrose University Professional Development Center is registering now for a program that will help front-line supervisors, middle managers and future workplace leaders build the knowledge, experience and ability to successfully lead in a dynamic business climate.
Leadership for the Quad Cities is a program designed for people who want to make a difference in an organization and the community. Participants meet once a month for six months starting Jan. 8, 2019 and will learn the critical difference between leading and managing; to identify when a cultural or adaptive change in an organization is needed and the steps to take; to manage conflict so it is constructive rather than destructive; and how to create a positive workplace culture.
Participants will be challenged to personally examine what they need to do as individuals to enrich the lives of others within an organization and the community. In addition, the skills they develop can be immediately applied in the workplace.
Leadership for the Quad Cities is designed and modeled after the St. Ambrose University College of Business Master of Organizational Leadership (MOL) degree program. The Leadership for the Quad Cities program will be taught by instructors with years of experience in teaching organizational leadership.
"Our instructors are consultants in the business community and this course is an extension of the St. Ambrose College of Business," said Ron Wastyn, MOL professor and chair. "This valuable course was created as a tool to help our regional businesses develop leadership skills."
Classes are sequenced and will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 8, Feb. 19, March 19, April 16, May 21, and June 18. Cost is $1,995 and the cohort is limited to 20 people.
