"Finding God in the Dark - A Retrospective Exhibition"
Rosalind Wilcox, is a St. Ambrose University alumna, a visual artist, and Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Her work from across a variety of media embodies experiences and spaces associated with her family's melting pot roots. She explores the diversity within her life - what she calls the red, white, and blues of art, while capturing the places and faces of her family and community.
As a legally blind artist, Wilcox often works from enlarged photos taken from the "passenger seat of life." She is also a singer, songwriter, percussionist, and guitarist, performing under the name Mississippi Rose.
Rosalind will visit St. Ambrose for a Q&A and reception on Friday, February 28 from 4-7 p.m. and a performance on Saturday, February 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Madsen Hall, with doors opening at 7 p.m.
