Occupational and Physical Therapy students participated in a special workshop this summer to retrofit battery operated cars for area children with mobility issues.
The GoBabyGo! workshop provided a live virtual lecture by Dr. Sam Logan from Oregon State University followed by a hands-on workshop. NuMotion, a company that creates products and services for individuals with disabilities, provided the supplies and cars (commonly known as power wheels). Ambrose students worked alongside faculty and local clinicians to modify the cars.
The GoBabyGo! project started at the University of Delaware and aims to increase mobility and quality of life for children with disabilities.
Workshops for clinicians and students to modify electric vehicles are held around the country.
