Tim Phillips, PhD

Dean of Students

Directly oversees the areas of Wellness and Recreation, Career Center, Counseling, Health Services, Residence Life, Security and Student Engagement. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the Student Conduct Review Process, Intercultural Life and Leadership. Serves on the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. Co-advises the Student Government Association. Serves as a general student advocate for needs that arise. 

Tim has been the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students at St. Ambrose since 2005. Additionally he formed and served as coordinator of the Neighborhood Relations Council (NRC) until 2013 and continues to serve as the primary Neighborhood Relations Liaison with the City and surrounding neighborhoods. Prior to serving at St. Ambrose, Tim held roles at Central College, St. Louis University and Millikin University.

Tim and his wife, Erin Phillips (currently a professor of Occupational Therapy at St. Ambrose) have five children.
