The chemistry curriculum closely follows the standards for undergraduate education established by the American Chemical Society. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in research projects or internships at local industries which better prepares you for either graduate school or jobs in industry.
As a result, you, as a St. Ambrose chemistry graduate, will be highly competitive in the job market. In a recent survey of chemistry alumni, 98% of respondents indicated that they are employed in a chemistry-related profession. All respondents stated that their undergraduate chemistry education prepared them well for their future, and that they were happy they had attended SAU.
To meet your future goals, we offer a variety of degrees, including the:
Bachelor of Arts
This degree can lead to jobs in chemical analysis, teaching, or, with either a Pre-Med or Forensics Concentration, to graduate studies in these areas.
Bachelor of Science
This degree can be a stepping-stone to graduate work in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, and other related areas such as medicine and pharmacy.
