St. Ambrose continues to be recognized nationally for its support of veteran students.
This fall, the university was selected as a "Top School" in the 2016 Military Advanced Education & Training Guide to Colleges & Universities, a comprehensive research tool for service members, education services officers and military transition officers. According to MAE&T, schools are evaluated for inclusion on the list by their achievement in military culture, financial aid, flexibility, general support services, on-campus support and online support services.
Also this fall, SAU was recognized once again as a "Military Friendly School" by veteran-owned publication, GI Jobs. The magazine's "Military Friendly" designation is given to schools that meet their criteria for delivering "the best experience for military students," and includes only the top 20 percent of surveyed schools, nationwide.
2016 is the seventh consecutive year SAU has been recognized as "Military Friendly" by the publication.
These accolades are in addition to St. Ambrose's second-year designation by U.S. News and World Report as a top-tier "Best Regional University - Midwest" in its annual listing of Best Colleges for Veterans. The university was ranked 15th out of the 40 universities that made the list. These select universities are recognized for offering the GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon program to veterans, and for being well-situated to support enrolled service members and veterans.
"Once again this recognition shows that we are doing a great job acclimating our veterans into school and supporting them while they're here," said Andrew Gates, coordinator of Veterans Recruitment and Services. "We continue to experience a healthy number of military and veteran students. It's a positive trend for us, and we're proud to support these men and women in their education."
