Junie B. Jones: 2015 Christmas Show

11/13/2015

This year's children's show, Junie B. Jones, has been cast and rehearsals have been going strong for a few weeks! The full title of the show is: Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells Batman Smells. It's a SAU holiday tradition that you're really not going to want to miss!

St. Ambrose is lucky to have Junie B. expert and SAU alum Kim Kurtenbach Furness '95 directing the project. Kurtenbach-Furness has directed this show twice before at Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse in Rock Island and always has a blast. She loves the characters, the words and the message the show teaches the audience. It is a hilarious and endearing tale based on the best-selling Junie B. Jones book series by Barbara Park. For many children, this is the first chapter book series they read. It is going to be a very fun and educational show because the kids get to see the book they've been reading in school come to life on the Allaert stage.

The story is about a girl named Junie B. Jones just trying to get through first grade, but May, a girl in her class, keeps getting in her way! Luckily she has her best friend, Herb, and her stuffed elephant, Phillip Johnny Bob, to talk to and help her solve her problems. The first grade class is full of crazy kids who the poor teacher, Mr. Scary, must deal with every single day.

If you want to find out more about this show, you have to come see it! Everyone involved in this is looking forward to sharing the show with the audience.
