The St. Ambrose Alumni Association Tour Program provides opportunities to travel with fellow Ambrosians and experience cultures around the world. The following Alumni Tours are currently available to all graduates of the university and their families and friends:
In partnership with the Academy for the Study of St. Ambrose of Milan at St. Ambrose University, Rev. Robert "Bud" Grant brings alumni and friends on a 10-day tour of Italy. The 2016 tour occurred May 22 through June 2. Learn more here. A 2018 date has not yet been announced.
As in the past, trips begin in Milan, where you will visit sites associated with St. Ambrose, like his tomb, the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, the Duomo, and the excavations under the Piazza del Duomo where you'll find the baptistery built by St. Ambrose and where Augustine was baptized. Then you'll head to Florence and Assisi. Finally, you'll visit Rome before departing. The trip consists of two days in Milan, two days in Florence, one day in Assisi, and five days in Rome.
The cost of the trip includes hotels, some meals, group transportation, and museum fees. Travelers are expected to book their own flights to Italy and pay for expenses not included in the trip fee, like some meals and incidentals. The trip is capped at 15 participants and includes a great deal of walking with modest accommodations.
