The St. Ambrose Alumni Association Tour Program provides opportunities to travel with fellow Ambrosians and experience cultures around the world.
The next SAU Alumni & Friends study tour of Italy will take place in 2016. This trip is sponsored by SAU and hosted by Rev. Robert "Bud" Grant and the Academy for the Study of St. Ambrose of Milan. Details are listed below. Interested Ambrosians should contact Anne Gannaway.
The trip begins in Milan where you will visit sites associated with St. Ambrose, like his tomb, the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, the duomo, and the excavations under the piazza del duomo where you'll find the baptistery built by St. Ambrose and where Augustine was baptized. Then you'll head to Florence and Assisi. Finally, you'll visit Rome before departing. The trip consists of two days in each city: Milan, Florence, and Assisi and five days in Rome. The trip is capped at 15 participants and includes a great deal of walking with modest accommodations. All details subject to change.
