Why Dual Admission at St. Ambrose?


We're so glad you asked! Starting your college education at a community college and continuing to St. Ambrose for your bachelor's is a great path. Here are some reasons why:


Articulation Agreement

Your Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from an accredited community college will satisfy most general education requirements at St. Ambrose University.


Academic Advising

Even while you are still enrolled in your community college studies, you will have one-on-one academic counseling and regular contact with a St. Ambrose academic advisor to assist you in setting and meeting your academic goals. 

Dual Admission Scholarship

Apply for the SAU/CC Dual Admission program prior to completing 30 credits toward your associate's degree and you will be eligible for a special $1,000 scholarship when you begin fulltime studies at St. Ambrose. This scholarship is above and beyond any other SAU academic and institutional scholarship aid for which you may be eligible.


St. Ambrose Student ID

You will be issued a St. Ambrose student ID that gives you immediate access to a wide range of services, activities, club meetings, events and facilities - including the library, fine arts center, PE center and Career Development center - on the SAU campus.


Access to the SAU Library

A terrific place to study and research, and is staffed by helpful librarians who can answer questions, help locate books, and teach you how to use online resources. The library houses a vast collection of books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, and maintains subscriptions to hundreds of online database services. Your SAU identification allows you to use all of the library services, and also can be used to check out materials from other Quad Cities college and public libraries.


SAU Facilities

Galvin Fine Arts Center

Supports fine arts programming and entertainment, including professional cultural events, concerts, lectures, and student activities. Galvin Performing Fine Arts Season events are free to students with St. Ambrose IDs.

Physical Education Center

The PE Center is the place for basketball, racquetball, volleyball, weightlifting, jogging, recreational activities, and varsity athletics. Use of facility equipment is free to you, as part of the program. In addition, your SAU ID gets you free admission to all regular season home athletic events - including basketball, volleyball and football games.

Career Development

The Career Development Center serves offers career planning assistance with opportunities to gain work experiences as a student and fulltime work as a graduate. You will have the opportunity to meet individually with counselors who can assist you with career counseling, internships, resume writing and employment opportunities.
