Recreational Facilities

artist design interiorWellness and Recreation Center: Open Fall 2017. Features include:

  • Field House: 56,000-square-feet; with 200-meter competition track, pole vault areas, long- and triple-jump pits; and, four basketball/volleyball courts (two wooden floor courts, two resilient flooring courts)
  • Cardio Workout/Weight Room: 5,200-square-feet; two-story; with recreational machines and weights
  • Group Exercise Room: 2,200-square-feet multipurpose area; for movement classes, group exercise, cheerleading and dance practices


Lee Lohman: Built in 1983, this physical education center houses classrooms, faculty offices and facilities for basketball, racquetball, volleyball, weightlifting, jogging, recreational activities and varsity athletics. Junge Park: A short drive from the SAU main campus, Junge Park is home to where we play Intramural slow-pitch softball in the fall and spring semesters. [map]







St. Vincent's Athletic Complex: Directly north of Gaines Street and Central Park Avenue – just minutes from campus – are assorted practice and competition fields. [map]

Sand Volleyball

Sand Volleyball: Adjacent to Tiedemann and Hagen Halls, this site is home to Intramural sand volleyball, as well as informal recreation opportunities. It can be reserved by contacting the Wellness and Recreation office.


Ambrose Dome
Ambrose Dome:
A premier facility located just minutes from campus. The Dome is an indoor turf facility that is home to club sports practices, some intramural sports, and intercollegiate athletic practices. [map]
