Ambrose Students Selected for State Honor Band

Four St. Ambrose students were selected from colleges and universities throughout Iowa to be a part of the 2011 Iowa Collegiate Honor Band Festival in Ames on November 18th and 19th. They are:

Jessica Fisher, a junior flutist from Davenport, majoring in Music Education
Luke Foster, a junior tubist from Burlington, majoring in Philosophy
Heather Runyon, a senior clarinetist from St. Louis, MO, majoring in Special Education
Brendan Sugrue, a sophomore alto saxophonist from Crystal Lake, IL, majoring in Marketing

The 100-member band represented 17 Iowa colleges and universities. The group performed a concert sponsored by the Iowa Music Educators Association at their annual IMEA Conference on the campus of Iowa State University on Saturday, November 19th in the Ames City Auditorium. The guest conductor for the event was Dr. Paula Crider, Professor Emeritus at The University of Texas.
