St. Ambrose University Trustee Emeritus Linda Neuman, the first woman to serve as an Iowa Supreme Court justice, was inducted into the Iowa Women's Hall of Fame on Aug. 22 in Des Moines.

Founded in 1975 by the Iowa Commission on the Status of Women, the Hall of Fame honors women who serve as role models to women, and who have worked to advance the rights of women and girls throughout the state.

Justice Neuman served on the Iowa Supreme Court from 1986 through 2003. She was a member of the St. Ambrose Board of Trustees from 1998-2013. Neuman currently resides in LeClaire, Iowa.

"We are pleased to learn this faithful civil servant is being honored for her lifetime's worth of achievements as a woman and on behalf of women," said Sr. Joan Lescinski, CSJ. PhD, president of St. Ambrose University. "We congratulate the Hon. Linda K. Neuman on this honor."
