Natalie Woodhurst, coordinator of the St. Ambrose Office of Veterans Recruitment and Services, is assisting UnityPoint Health-Trinity and the Community Veterans Engagement Board in creating a one-stop shop where veterans can quickly and personally access VA personnel and services, as well as other vital community resources.
The event will be held on July 19-20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Veterans can expect face-to-face consultations with Veterans Benefit Administration and Veterans Health Administration representatives who will provide claims assistance, wellness exams, and onsite enrollment for VA healthcare benefits, caregiver support, home health care and a multitude of other VA resources.
In addition, local community resource agencies will be providing immediate assistance.
"We appreciate the support of St. Ambrose University and its generosity in providing the location, logistical and financial support," said Sherri Behr DeVrieze '96 MCJ, the community health program coordinator for UnityPoint Health-Trinity. "Having such a community-oriented university in our midst is a blessing."
