In October 2014, St. Ambrose University faculty, residents, and a DPT student traveled to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) National Conference in San Antonio, Tex.
They represented St. Ambrose University well with the following presentations at the conference:
• Wettach L, Levsen M, Gardner C, Farrell K: Clinical Decision Making Utilizing Treatment of Thoracolumbar Junction for Abdominal Strain. (Platform Presentation)
• Barclay M, Levsen M, Farrell K. The Use of a Comparable Sign as a Progression Guide in a Patient with Subacromial Impingement Syndrome: A Case Study. (Platform Presentation)
• Majkowski K, Ferguson M, Wilkinson H, Farrell K. Application of Clinical Practice Guidelines for Examination and Treatment of Achilles Tendinopathy. (Poster Presentation)
• Welding M, Fleener D, Pospichil K, Farrell K. Therapeutic Neuroscience Education and Graded Motor Imagery with Manual Therapy and Exercise in Treatment of a Patient with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in the Right Upper Extremity. (Poster Presentation)
• Uhl J, Pospischil E, Kersten T, Farrell K. Dry Needling to Treat Symptoms of Dystonia in a patient with Peripheral Mycolonus. (Poster Presentation)
A peer-reviewed presentation is a requirement of our Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Clinical Residency Program in Orthopaedics. The residents have consistently shared their work at the AAOMPT National Conference each year. Marty Barclay's presentation was based on his DPT Scholarship Project.
Congratulations to these individuals!
