New Additions to the President’s Cabinet

12/05/2011

Two new members were added to the President's Cabinet this fall. John Cooper began as the new Vice President for Enrollment Management, and Jeanne Kobuszewski is serving as Vice President for Advancement.

"John and Jeanne come to us as proven leaders in higher education," said President Joan Lescinski, CSJ. "As St. Ambrose continues to develop as a leading Midwestern university, we look forward to benefitting from their contributions as they serve in these key cabinet positions."

Cooper succeeds James Loftus, who became president of Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee, Wis. Loftus served the university for more than 21 years with great distinction. Kobuszewski took over for Ed Littig, who retired after a successful 35-year career in fund-raising and advancement administration.

Cooper's career in higher education administration has included roles at University of Dayton, Chatfield College and Xavier University (Cincinnati), and at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. He has worked as an enrollment management consultant for colleges, and elementary and secondary Catholic schools. Cooper is providing oversight to the ACCEL adult learner program, admissions, communications and marketing, community college outreach, financial aid, graduate admissions, student success center, records and registration, and retention.

Kobuszewski has worked in senior leadership for more than 25 years, primarily in Catholic higher education. Prior to joining St. Ambrose, she served as vice president for institutional advancement at The College of Saint Rose, and at Benedictine College, Atchison, Kan., and as executive director of the Aurora Health Foundation, Milwaukee, Wis. Her charge includes overseeing the university's advancement activities, including the annual fund, major gifts and planned giving, alumni relations and capital campaigns.
