Maj. Gen. Robert Radin, formerly commanding general of U.S. Army Sustainment Command in Rock Island, will return to the Quad Cities to deliver the 2010 St. Ambrose spring commencement address Saturday, May 15 at the iWireless Center in Moline.
A total of 669 degrees, including 490 bachelor's, 172 master's and seven doctoral degrees, are expected to be awarded during the ceremony. Radin, currently assistant deputy chief of staff for logistics at the Department of the Army Headquarters in Washington, D.C., will receive an honorary Doctor of Public Administration degree.
"We are very proud to recognize Major General Robert Radin for his years of service to our country, as well as the lasting impact of his time spent here in the Quad Cities," says Joan Lescinski, CSJ, president of St. Ambrose. "He accomplished much during his command, not the least of which was strengthening the ties between the arsenal and our community. I know as commencement speaker, his words of inspiration, challenge and vision will set the tone for our graduates as they move into their careers and civic service."
