December 2014 DPT Grads

03/30/2015

Congratulations to the 33 students who graduated from the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in December.

It was a busy weekend for the graduates and their families. On Friday night, the graduates were recognized for their accomplishments with a reception and dinner. Marty Barclay and Jared McCaffrey were chosen by their classmates to provide the student perspective on their education.

The Class of 2014 chose Karen Collins, PT, '05 DPT for the special recognition award in appreciation of her commitment to teaching and clinical practice. Karen graduated with her DPT in 2005 from SAU, served as a teaching assistant in the Clinical Exercise Physiology and Cardiopulmonary Therapeutics, and has been a clinical instructor for many of our students.

Erin Peiffer received the Joy Michelsen Award in recognition of her desire to work in the pediatrics setting and her successes during her pediatric internship.

The faculty recognized Elise Beck with the Student Scholarship Award based on her academic performance, professional behaviors, leadership, service, and potential to make contributions to the profession.

On Saturday morning, the Class of 2014 walked across the stage of the River Center to receive their doctoral hoods. Congratulations to the DPT Class of 2014; the faculty and staff are very proud of you!
