On Thursday, Feb. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., the Figge Art Museum is hosting a "College Night", for faculty, staff and students.
St. Ambrose University, as part of having an Institutional Membership to the Figge Art Museum, the Museum, Friends and Membership Committees are excited to share a new major exhibition, "Sporting Fashion: Outdoor Girls 1800 to 1960." Read more at Sporting Fashion.
This exhibition highlights ensembles worn by women active in the sporting world from the turn of the nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century.
Featuring sixty-four fully accessorized ensembles and a selection of sport-related accessories, Sporting Fashion reconstructs a material history of women in sport through the garments and accessories that enabled them to compete and excel.
Docent-led tours of the new exhibition will be ongoing through the event, as well as a photo competition for those who participate, with a prize for the winner.
Admission for this event is free. Appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be provided for alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks.
