The St. Ambrose University Interprofessional Health Clinic will provide student-led interprofessional healthcare services to the underserved population with a focus on compassionate care, empowerment of the individual, management of health conditions, and overall wellness.
While the clinic will address the immediate needs of patients, the care will focus on empowering the patient to work on the long-term management of their health conditions. We stress prevention and education and will ensure all patients are treated with the respect they deserve.
Clinic Hours and Location
Tuesdays, 3-7 p.m., 1320 W. Lombard St., Davenport
Interprofessional Rehabilitation Clinic
The clinic will follow an interprofessional model of patient management for individuals who require rehabilitation.
Individuals with neuromuscular, musculoskeletal conditions, neurological disorders, communication disorders, frailty, and mobility issues will be seen.
Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology students will provide the care to patients. Social Work students will also be available to help patients find further health services within the Quad Cities.
Individuals who would like to be seen at the clinic should call 563-333-5865. Staff will ask a few questions to determine eligibility for care and complete a basic screen to identify issues that are beyond what the clinic can see.
Individuals will need to complete paperwork asking about medical history and current issues, share contact information, and provide a form of identification at their first visit.
Do you have or are you at risk of developing chronic disease? Health coaching can assist in making and maintaining healthy choices. These services could include goal setting, stress management, improving physical activity, diet and overall health behaviors.
You will be managed by a team of occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, and speech language pathology students. The students will talk about your reasons for needing care, review your medical history, address any difficulties you are having with daily activities, and your goals for rehabilitation. They will complete an examination and determine a plan of care to help you attain your goals. Faculty and licensed professionals from each program will be at the clinic to provider supervision of the students.
The Interprofessional Rehabilitation Clinic can see patients for a single visit to address immediate concerns. We can also see you over an extended time period based on your condition. If you need care beyond what can be provided at the clinic, we will work with you to try to find a consistent care provider in the community.
The goal of this clinic is to help meet the needs of the community and also provide an educational experience for our students.
Students will be providing the majority of the care at the clinic.
Students will be supervised throughout the process by faculty and licensed professionals on each clinic day in accordance with state practice acts and the best practice procedures for student-led care.
