Athletic Scholarship Details
Athletic Scholarships are given to incoming student athletes (First-Year or Transfer) who will participate in one of SAU’s 31 varsity athletic programs. Awarded at the discretion of SAU coaching staff and based on athletic ability, these scholarships are subject to renewal each year for four years. These awards remain in effect despite any physical hardship during participation in the sport.
Student eligibility and enrollment requirements:
- First-Year or Transfer student accepted into St. Ambrose University
- Assessment of athletic ability in coordination with SAU coaching staff
- Commitment to join one of SAU’s 31 varsity athletic teams
- Scholarship is renewable each year for four years
Athletic Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of SAU coaching staff and based on athletic ability. Full tuition offers will include federal or state grant eligibility. Interested students should contact SAU coaching staff to express interest in joining the team.
Athletic Scholarships are disbursed following a straightforward process:
- Coaching staff and the Financial Aid office determine recipients and award amounts and share that list with Financial Services. Federal and state grants are included in full tuition offers.
- Disbursement occurs at the beginning of each year.
- Funds are directly credited to your account and applied toward tuition.
