Counseling Center
The St. Ambrose University Counseling Center provides individual (personal) and group counseling to students, faculty, and staff. The center provides a confidential, supportive, and collaborative environment for open discussion of personal issues. For more information visit the Counseling website.
Family Resources Survivor resources
Family Resources Survivor Resources are free confidential support services in our community. 24/7 access is available by calling 866-921-3354.
Residence Life staff
Your RA or Hall director will be able to assist you in the process of seeking help. They are located in your building. Resident Advisors and Hall Directors are mandatory reporters and must inform their supervisors when they learn of a sexual assault.
SAU Security Office/Davenport Police Department
Calling 911 from a non-campus phone will put you in contact with the Davenport Police Department. Calling 911 from a campus phone or calling 333-6104 will get you a security officer 24/7. For more information visit the File a Report page.
Genesis Medical Center Emergency Room
Located 1227 E Rusholme St., Davenport, Genesis ER can provide medical attention and/or a rape kit to preserve all evidence. You have the option to have the kit done confidentially.
A specially-trained nurse will contact a Family Resources Survivor advocate who will assist you in advocacy and support. The Davenport Police Department also will be contacted although this does not require you to follow-through with reporting. The Hospital will bill the Department of Public Health for your visit and not your insurance.
University chaplain
The St. Ambrose University chaplain provides confidential spiritual direction and conversation to all students. The university chaplain can be reached at (563)333.6151 or by email at chaplain@sau.edu.

Internal Resource. Duty To Report. In most cases, University personnel are not equipped to provide options or resources to victims of sexual violence and are also required to report general information to the Security department for investigation.

Therapy Assistance Online (TAO Connect) – Therapy Assistance Online or TAO Connect is an online platform designed to help students evaluate and educate themselves about a variety of mental health concerns. TAO Connect is a self-guided, self-paced, private resource with more than 130+ informational topics.

External Resource. DPD will investigate via their policy and procedure. DPD can take a report and determine if an investigation is warranted. SAU can assist students in contacting DPD if they choose.

Internal Resource. Duty to Report/Must inform Security who will have a duty to investigate. The Dean of Students has access to numerous resources for students who have experienced a crime of sexual violence. However, the Dean of Students must report information to the Security department.

Confidential reporting duties
External Resource. ER will contact Safe Path Survivor Resources to aid them in the process. You do not have to provide them with any identifying information and can choose to remain confidential. ER will treat medical trauma and will aid in completing an exam including conducting a confidential rape kit and providing victims with the resource of a Safe Path Advocate.

May provide resources for STD and pregnancy testing, health assessment, and referrals to confidential off site resources for medical care and follow up. May work with counseling services to assist students with the options available in Counseling Services.

Residence Life Staff Including Residence Hall Directors (RHD), Assistant Hall Directors (AHD), and Resident Advisors (RA)
Confidential reporting duties
Internal Resource. Reporting and Investigation Duties. Security and Residence Life departments must investigate all reports of sexual violence and may have the obligation to report general information in the form of crime statistics and/or timely notices to the University. Any such notices will ensure confidentiality of the students involved. Security and Residence Life staff can assist students who wish to file a campus and/or police report. Both departments can provide students with options of No Contact Order, Academic/Housing/Work Changes, as well as conducting a formal investigation into the conduct of the alleged perpetrator of sexual violence which, if found in violation, could result in sanctions for sexual violence that including suspension or dismissal.
